About

The essence of journalism is to stand in solidarity with society, shining a light on difficult issues, exposing broken systems and raising awareness as a path to a better world.
By exploring the changes the pandemic brought in the media landscape and communication in general, the fourth edition of the Investigative Film Festival Skopje aims to highlight the things that unite us. The journalistic curiosity in these unprecedented times is faced with new challenges; therefore, we invite you to join us while we examine the current, and try to anticipate the forthcoming state of the ever-changing world of media.

At the fourth festival edition we will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on journalism, media and communication in general, as well as many other trends and challenges in journalism and the media. This year’s festival program includes films that reflect the current state of the world and humanity’s perseverance, and discussions with media professionals from the country and the world.

This is the first time that the entire program of the Investigative Film Festival Skopje – IFFS will be held online. While we’ll miss meeting our guests in person, this is the only reasonable decision considering the current situation around the world. We hope that this way our program will be enjoyed by people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to join us in Skopje and we wish to be able to safely welcome our guests in Skopje for our next edition.

As always, IFFS is open for the public and all events are free of charge. IFFS is an international festival and some of the events are in English. The fourth IFFS is organized by the Platform for investigative journalism and analyses – PINA in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung- Skopje Office and with the support of UNHCR -Skopje.

Yours truly, IFFS team
